Every trial is also a temptation because every trial is an opportunity to grow or an occasion to sin. Therefore, we must fix our eyes on the Giver – to be completely satisfied by the Lord so that we wouldn’t want anything else occupying our hearts.

If we want to cultivate a spiritually healthy family, we must be God-centred, Word-centred, and gospel-centred. This is the call given to all of us. Then let us intentionally invest our time and effort in the next generation so that they too will love the Lord who we love with all our heart, soul, and strength.

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (Jam. 1:12). Then let us keep eternity in our hearts as we turn our eyes to Christ – the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

Wisdom is the ability to perceive the purpose of God and carry out the will of God in the midst of our trials. James tells us that if we lack this wisdom, we should ask God because He is generous and eager to provide. Then let’s ask Him for this wisdom so that our trials make us, not break us.

We are called to consider our trials pure joy because God is testing our faith, producing perseverance, and maturing us through our trials. Then as we consider the One who endured the cross for our sake, let us stand firm and find comfort in the One who promises to be in the fire with us.

Jesus Christ rose from the grave and conquered death so that you and I can have life and life to the full. Then let us cling to the promises of God as we place our hope in the One who will never fail us – Jesus is our living hope. And let us go wherever He is for we are most satisfied when we are with Him.

Jesus Christ was forsaken by the Father so that we may be found. He was condemned so that we may be accepted. He died on the cross so that we may have life. Then let us live to honor Him for He alone is worthy of our worship.

Jesus’ death demonstrates His unconditional, unwavering, unending love and commitment to us. He died to substitute His place with us so that we can have His place. He was bound so that we might go free. He died so that we might live. The Son of God was forsaken so that we may become children of God.

Jesus Christ is the Judge who is judged for us. He took our place, and He was punished for us. Then let us come to Christ for He will forgive us, restore us, and use us for His glory.

Jesus Christ willingly and joyfully went to the cross because He believed in God’s sovereignty and provision. He went under the sword of divine justice for you and me so that we may enter the presence of God and have life again. Then let’s look to Christ for He alone is the source of hope and peace for all our circumstances.

Jesus Christ stayed on the path to the cross knowing that the weight of God’s wrath would ultimately crush Him. But He submitted Himself to the will of God by willingly and joyfully drinking the cup because of His love for us. May we experience this love and be transformed by it today.

The Lord’s Supper reminds us that Jesus Christ is “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (Jn. 1:29). And He is inviting all sinners to come and take this meal for this is where our souls can be nourished. Then let us remember, receive, and rest in Christ as He ministers to us through it.

Jesus is worthy of our extravagant devotion. In this story, this woman’s act was described as beautiful by Jesus, but also a complete waste by others – a beautiful “waste.” Then may we have the courage and faith to offer our lives as a beautiful “waste” to the Lord for this is how we honor the Lord.

Jesus will come back with great power and glory to judge the wicked, vindicate the righteous, and redeem His people back to Himself. Then until He returns, we are called to be on guard, to be hopeful, and to be vigilant as we faithfully do the work that He has given us.

Jesus is the Son of David and the Son of God, who comes to destroy sin and death by giving away His life for us. And He is inviting us to give away our lives to Him for this alone is the way to our salvation. Then may we humbly, joyfully, and willingly entrust ourselves to Him for He alone is the Giver of life.

Because we worship the King, Jesus, we will be hated by the world. But we are not to repay evil with evil. Instead, we are called to testify about Jesus so that the world will also know this wonderful Savior who is generously offering life to all – even His enemies.

Jesus loves us with sacrificial faithfulness, vulnerable openness, and grace-driven commitment – and we are now called to love each other with the same love that we have received. Let us obey knowing that it will bring glory to the Father and complete the joy of our hearts.

Jesus is the true Vine, and we are the branches. If we remain in Him and Him in us, we will bear much fruit; apart from Him, we can do nothing. Then let us desperately cling to Him this year for He alone is the source of our hope and life.

Jesus is not only the King we need but the King we desire for He leads us out of slavery, leads us back home, and leads us even when we’ve rejected Him. Then this Christmas, let’s worship this King because He came to save us, to give us worth, to give us hope, and to give us a reason to rejoice again.

Jesus isn’t just the King of the Jews but the Savior of the world. And we are now called to live under His life-giving authority – to surrender ourselves to His lordship. This Christmas, may we give Jesus the worship He deserves as we invite the world to shout for joy – proclaiming that the King has come.
